Job Title: Sr DBA

SUMMARY

This individual will be responsible for providing database administration for all testing and production DB infrastructure. This individual will handle new database configurations, performance analysis, tuning and all regularly scheduled maintenance. This individual will all be responsible for Microsoft SQL Server RDMS, SSIS, OLAP (Analysis services), SQL Server Reporting services, Postgres in Amazon’s Cloud, and SharePoint. This individual will be the primary person responsible for the Align Production database infrastructure environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

?Implement, upgrade and enhance cost-effective fault-tolerant database infrastructure
?Analyze system performance. Establish and uphold performance metrics for the system as whole and key business applications in particular.
?Fine-tune the databases to match application requirements.
?Provide database support and maintenance. Support user’s requests in relation to system problems and requests for enhancements.
?Ensure systems uptime
?Design indexes for existing applications, choosing when to add or remove indexes
?When users complain about the performance of a particular query, help developers improve the performance of that query by tweaking it or modifying indexes
?Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specification
?communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
?Support software projects involving the database infrastructure which this person supports.

?Ensures the effective fulfillment of ives and deadlines assigned to the group.
?Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
?Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
?Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

?BA degree in a design-related field.
?Solid in Microsoft SQL and in a clustered, adhoc SQL queries, log shipping and store procedures.
?7-10 years’ experience as a DBA in a fast paced, high growth, technology and intensive environment.
?Solid in Postgres DB
?Strong understanding of Linux operating system and ability to navigate the operating system
?Solid of SQL Server native/SharePoint integrated reporting services administration, reporting services security, configuration and report deployment.
?Solid in Microsoft SQL Server/Analysis services in a clustered environment
?Solid in Windows server administration, Analysis Services, Integration Services, or Reporting Services.
?Power BI or other BI tools skill/experience is plus
?Certifications from Microsoft in current versions of SQL a positive
